Life as normal

Another day gone, and back to work tomorrow, big week this week, working mon-fri. At least we are going to the gold coast next weekend, so hopefully we’ll have some fun in the sun :P Other than that, nothing interesting to report, just life as normal. Still need to finish installing tx antenna, and need to get a hold of some UHF antennas. Anyway that’s about it for now, ciao

Busy busy busy

Haven’t posted in a while, my bad. Life has a habit of getting in the way, well where should I start, I’ve gotten a new job since I last posted, working as a cleaner, so that’s been keeping me busy. Lets see what else, I passed my license back in May. I also built myself a new computer, and I’m in the process of setting up a new TX antenna for rocket radio.

Anyways, can’t think of anything else for the time being, but I’ll try and post more often.

Rocket Radio's Return to Air, Part 3

Ok, where to start.

We’ve had a few small offline donations, and that has been able to get use some parts, we have got 1 set of headphones, and later this week a new hard drive for the main broadcast system, this means that Rocket Radio should be returning to air in a basic form, no luxuries yet, so we won’t have a talkback line up, nor will we have a video stream/Rocket Tv. I’m hoping to get in some test broadcasts soon, and hoping to be back on regularly just after Christmas. Also it looks like we will have a new cohost, Chris aka “River”, if you want to know more about him, visit his bio here.

Campaign to Bring Rocket Radio Back Quicker

Before I start don’t feel obliged, you don’t have to take part if you don’t want or can’t afford too, I’m only asking for what you can AFFORD to give. Ok, I’ll start off by saying that we accepting donations, of either money or your old unused parts.

Ok, here is our target, $280 (roughly)

or you can choice to donate you old parts, here is a list of what we are in need of.

  • Motherboard and matching cpu (must be p4 ht 2.8 or above)
  • 3 webcams (can’t be logitechs, as they play up with our broadcast software)
  • 1 Headphones (we are after a decent pair, as it will be used for monitoring)
  • 2 computer mouses/mice or whatever you call them.

I know the hard drive wasn’t on that list, but I’d much prefer to use a new drive not a second hand one.

If you have parts donations just leave a comment, and I’ll email you with address to send parts to.

We thank you all in advance for any contribution you can make, especially at this time of year, with christmas on our doorstep.

Rocket Radio's Return to Air, Part 2

Ok, I’ve been working out, that I should be able to have Rocket Radio up and running sometime in January, that way christmas is over, so we will hopfully have some money to work on. As I said in the last post, I know you miss us, and we WILL return. It’s just that, running Rocket Radio isn’t exactly free, and it is funded entirely on my “spare change” and everynow and then we have unexpected costs, like hard drive failure, in another computer motherboard failure. And we don’t have the funding to just throw money at it and make the problem go away.
